With a total square footage of 10,000 feet, there are five various levels. (An elevator facilitates transportation.) The foyer ceiling is 20 feet high, and a bridge with glass rails spans behind the contemporary-styled chandelier. Proceeding in to the living room one is met with full 18-foot walls of adjoining windows.
On a different level of the house, the formal dining room is separated from the dinette by a two sided fireplace. The room behind these two rooms is called the Wisconsin Room because it so embraces the essence of the wooded Wisconsin outdoors. Four sliding patio doors can be opened from this room to a wrap-around enclosed porch overlook. In the summer, one can enjoy here a bug-free outdoor experience without leaving the comfort of home.
The bridge over the entrance to the living room leads from the eating areas to the master bedroom suite. The suite features both his and hers bathrooms with showers, as well as an open whirlpool/fireplace area.
Along with the standard KHLH features such as KHLH custom case and base, there are also additional treatments. A bedroom wing on the main floor level has oversized door frames, for instance, to take advantage of the nine foot ceilings. The shelving in the master bedroom and study is extensive and remarkable. The kitchen countertops are granite. Marble tile graces the foyer entrance. And the wood flooring in the dining rooms was actually made from oak cleared in developing the site.
There are numerous additional features, such as the maintenance-free exterior and the aluminum stove with aluminum trim in the Wisconsin Room. Innovative design and construction makes use of the area under the four spaced garage by adding a pool area with a full wetbar. A glass-enclosed exercise area is situated to one side of this, by the changing rooms and bathroom. Proceeding back to the main area one comes out in the billiards room, which overlooks into the pool.
As with most of the designs we create or influence, flexibility is built in. Here, the fourth, hobby garage is located adjacent to a bath and a large utility room capable of being converted to a kitchen/utility combination. This area would facilitate easy conversion to an in-law suite or nanny quarters. In addition, a large area of the lower level possesses flexible potential.
